The 2010 Clarence Hewlett Memorial - US National Championship will take place in Philadelphia on June 5th and 6th 2010, at the aLOFT Philadelphia Airport Hotel, in the Tactic Room.

4301 Island Avenue Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19153
Phone: (267) 298-1700

The hotel is close to the airport, and is colocated on a platform with two other hotels:

Four Points by Sheraton Philadelphia Airport

Sheraton Suites Philadelphia Airport
http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1047

They're really close to each other. They are managed by the same company and also share the same shuttle from the airport.

How to get there:

From any of Philadelphia International Airport's terminals, wait for the shuttle servicing the three hotels. The ride is pretty quick - about 5-10 minutes.

If you're in Philadelphia you can also take the Septa R1 Train from the 30th Street Station, stop at any airport terminal, then take the shuttle to the three hotels. Note that the 30th Street Station is Philadelphia's main train hub. If you take a train to Philly (Amtrak, commuter), that's the place you'd normally stop.

The train schedules are here:

Please come to the tournament room by 9:15am in the morning.

The *tentative* schedule is as follows:

On Saturday there will be seven rounds, starting at 9:30. We will take a lunch break. Pairings will use accelerated Swiss System.

Sunday will be a round-robin playoff of the top four players...six rounds also starting at 9:30AM. If two or more people tie for fourth/fifth on the first day, a playoff will be held between the two players with the top tiebreaks.

As always, we welcome international players!

The first US player on the final ranking will automatically qualify to the World Othello Championship for 2010.

Finally, it's a really good idea to let us know if you intend to come.

The organizing committee,
Ben, Jian, Sharon and Vlad
